I rebuilt my boat a few years ago. Including a complete rewire.
All worked well. Everything is wired correctly, well, except for not to ABCXYZ... boat wiring colors.
This year, installed new sonar units, and they seem to be more sensitive to low voltage (when starting the main motor).
I decided...
These first 3 show it in the stored position.
Pretty much out of the way for fishing bow or stern.
I run at speed with it in this position.
The top is 8' long, a little over 6' 8" tall.
Many of us have these portable radios for use while in the outdoors.
I'm just curious how many of us may be using the GMRS channels, but not getting an FCC license to do so.
The poll is anonymous, so be honest.
Now ain't that an oxymoron ?
Anyone off hand know the lower unit gear ratio in the 2 stroke 9.9 and 15 hp motors, tiller operated ?
I know they used the same gearcase for many years, but not sure if the ratio was ever changed.
Also, was there a different gear ratio used on the remote operated models ?
thanks.
ort. Carport, I mean boat shed.
Soon the truck and new minivan will have their spots back in the garage.
18 x 26 with 8' sidewalls taxed and installed for $2900
Would have liked to go 24 x32, but too much $$$ and too many trees to remove.
Too much $$ for the ends and doors, will build my own...
I added a bimini to my fishing boat this summer. No previous experience with them.
Then I cross a wake or make a quick course correction, the bimini gets to swaying from side to side.
Quite a bit more than I'm comfortable with.
It is an 8' long, 4 bow, anchored by support poles on one end, and...

We used to be able to access the album of previously uploaded and posted photos, in the manage attachments section,
Cannot find it now. Only recently uploaded photos can be found.
Are these photos still in there somewhere?
I'm assuming they still appear in the threads they were originally...
Do you seat the hub parts together before installing on the prop shaft?
In other words, do you press/hammer them together?
I have read that some people do.
Have also read that it is not needed.
Just install, then torque to 100 ft lb to seat, then back off the nut, 55 ft lb being the minimum...
I have an I-6 115 hp 1986, that I would like to add a water pressure gauge to.
Where is the easiest location on these motors to connect pressure tube ?
"Fixed wing" or "small fixed wing" aircraft is a term that comes up in the news occasionally.
As opposed to a plane that flaps its wings like a bird?
Aren't most planes "fixed wing" ?
I know there are some planes on which the wings move, but aren't they the minority, especially in small...

I recently upgraded my kicker, wanted a bit more umph, and found a great deal on a Merc 15 with electric start.
Now I'm looking for a new prop for trolling.
Looking to slow the boat down.
Currently running a 3 blade 9p prop. It runs at almost 3 mph at idle.
Options are either a 4 blade 10 x...

Add "Location" back into the username info?
I really don't think the member rank needs to be posted twice, one inch apart. Maybe replace one with location?
It is often valuable to know what country, climate (cold or warm), or if the boat is used in saltwater, when diagnosing a boat, motor, or...
Friend of mine dropped in last night.
Haven't seen him in a few months, but his cousin "cold rain" has been staying with me over the summer.
How'd you guys do up north?
