    TKS Ignition system hissing/sucking - not working properly

    It's still preferred to be sealed even if encased in a waterproof holder anything other than that is much like using what engine oil, oil filter and ways of winterizing an engine, it becomes a matter of opinion vs facts and who's watching and/or paying in the end.... < In my opinion of course...

    What year is the boat the drive came with? If you're able to match a year, one of the following links ought to be your parts catalog for it, 165 1970-1977 165 1978-1981 Best to do (plus set up to do before hand) a pressure test first to see if maybe something else might be leaking too then...

    Bravo 3 bearing shims

    Gotcha, thinking back I do believe some were not marked so you'd have to go by measurements. What year is the boat? What number service manual are you using? I couldn't get a read from your past thread questions to know for sure. Manual number 11? #28? #28 supplement or #39? Took some creative...

    Bravo 3 bearing shims

    The stamped numbers ought to be in between the gear timing marks behind the rear cover... Older units the numbers were more visible than newer drive shaft housings... Might have to pull out a magnifying glass depending on the year of the drive, the model of the drive and/or serial number. Serial...

    TKS Ignition system hissing/sucking - not working properly

    At this point I’d say put everything you have/can in new, double check all wires everywhere you can for cut open type damage and/or rubbing on something then go test the boat to see what happens before going much further…. Have extra fuses on board in case they blow later to Tty to get back...

    TKS Ignition system hissing/sucking - not working properly

    Was going off of this comment in the first post. Without an updated wiring diagram, I'm unsure of the pink wires routing...I just know of the fuse and wire but unsure of the exact specifics that it handles. It seems some have reported issues with the temp switch wires rubbing and others didn't...

    TKS Ignition system hissing/sucking - not working properly

    If that 15 amp fuse continuous to blow, look for a cut open chafed wire including all the wiring at the alternator and not rubbing on something or even the damaged wire you mentioned may had been rubbing on a sharp edge. This member ended up blowing both fuses at different episodes...

    TKS Ignition system hissing/sucking - not working properly

    The accessory 12 volt power type plug normally would look something like a cigarette lighter plug in a car… it’s usually protected by either a 20 amp breaker or fuse at or behind the dash…. I recall looking up the info on the fuse you found and it’s mentioned as an accessory fuse…. Since it was...

    TKS Ignition system hissing/sucking - not working properly

    The 15 amp fuses in that area seems to had been more or an additional part of the ignition accessories system that Merc added around that era… it tends to seem to blow if you use other accessories, such as a pump to blow up at inner tube,, raft, etc. from say the helm accessory power plug but if...

    active warning -> warning light.

    Bear in mind this may be a case of the ECM is designed to sort of ignore this warning light code as far as setting off a warning horn because it would be known out of Merc that not all boat manufacturers would physically install the warning light.... Since you boat doesn't have the light plugged...

    Volvo Penta 3.0L fuel starvation?

    active warning -> warning light.

    Volvo Penta 3.0L fuel starvation?

    What is the full model number of your Volvo 3.0? Example 3.0GSPLKD First few thoughts that come to mind would be there ought to be a small fuel filter right at (in) the carb fuel line inlet connection that may have caught something, plugging up some of the flow, or possibly sticky needle and...
