SEI preload and a stern jack

Either way it may have to come back apart but it's been a while of physically doing this for me, but I believe there is a process defined as false preload reading before the nut gets any real torqued down in which sounds as if hasn't happened yet? Basically near finger tight still? You'd need...

    O2 Sensor codes . . .

Sorry Ted, but seems about the only thing I can suggest here is go buy a book (another service manual in your case) and join your admiral in the sun. 🌞 🙂 Some general info regarding the health of the catalyst exhadust...

    Bellows ground wires cut SX-A

Tough one to be exact in explanation for the Volvo as there isn't/doesn't seem to be a direct guide for the grounding/bonding corrosion protecting system like merc offers in their service manuals. To get a visual of it outside of having one near by, you'd need to keep studying the schematics...

What is this filter on the ignition power wire?

It’s often referenced as a noise filter. There are times when it falls, the engine may not start/run but that condition is intermittent. You’re able to buy a new harness from Merc using your serial number to help ensure the correct part number for about $87.00. Example is item number 17...

Mercruiser d4.2 220 turbo AC - when they were built ?

Your next option to try is contacting MerCruiser Customer Assistance either by phone or their website explaining the situation in the note section of the following link that the serial numbers are correct for diesels but they are coming up as petrols in parts look up catalogs here the USA and...

Mercruiser d4.2 220 turbo AC - when they were built ?

When you get a chance, try double checking these two numbers… The first one 0L667048 doesn’t come up as anything known but playing and comparing it to the second number posted, it appears the second 6 should be a 0 so 0L607*** for both. Problem is both numbers come up as 5.7L gas engines and...

    Anyone try this scan tool?

Be careful because in general reading of that site, that scanner appears to only be able to read (handle) Mercury Outboards and not MerCruiser stern drives. Plus I'm far from spelling and grammar police but I noticed a word misspelled where it seems it would be needed most to determine if it...

    Serial number help

It also helps knowing it’s a 1992 year model which is listed in the serial number range too linked above as 92 was more consistent of being in the 0B/0C range so using 0C and the number we’re able to make out is the only Bravo unit option that pops up in any known combination…It’s just odd that...

Fuel injector plastic tip fell into intake hole... now what?

You could do all that if desired but definitely add water so you don't start to damage the water pump impeller while cranking. Thing is with opening the throttle is that different manufactures, engine models, / ECM's all have different throttle percentage settings of going into Clear Flood...

Fuel injector plastic tip fell into intake hole... now what?

Might be able to vacuum it out with shop vacuum. Also does yours have a fuel damper on the fuel rail… looks like a fuel regulator. Might be able to open the damper up and use it as a clean out spot.
