I have bought several Chinese tools. I usually strip them down and clean out swarf and fit decent grease (where applicable ) to bearings and pivots , maybe sometimes give something a swipe with a file or emery paper just to get it a bit smoother. Ha, just got my carb gauge thing from Temu as Im...

I use CRC Long life spray now ( used to use crc 6-66 marine) ,I spray it on after the post fishing washdown . I also use the long life on all my stored ( mothballed and not used .303's) rifles and shotguns . I leaves a goopy coating after a few applications. I like it because it works and it...

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

The Q jet is a good carb ,its biggest problem is that there are precious few who know how to fettle them . I do recall Holley We're offering plug and play for certain cars ,it may be worth a look at their wares being that the 4.3 is firstly a car engine . A vac sec Holley could be the go . If...

    Mercruiser 4.3 starter issue

Well my guess is that you have an inertia starter. ,starter engages as normal ....engine fires once or twice which spins pinion back down the bendix and then dies which leaves the starter still spinning but disengaged. Does the engine fire at all , or just before starter starts spinning...

I always wear one on the move but take it off to fish if the water is calm . My next table project

Older ones are just wood but newer ones are coated/dunked in creosote but they are a softer local wood ( they burn real well in my log burner ). To be fair All the older ones I have seen have been taken out of service within the last 10 years ,most around here were new from about 1947 so I...
