    I agree. A good running OMC Cobra is fine. Run it for as long as you can maintain it. Hopefully that will be a long time.

    It says 1 year warranty. If you got 7 years out of a Never Start, you did great, IMHO. I call them that because their car batteries only last a few year at best. I stopped buying them. (I didn't see the "robot or human" thing.)

    USB ports typically have a small parasitic draw. That's where the battery switch saves the day. Disconnect the ground. Of course, if it's in the water, you have to leave the battery on, but most of us store our boats on land.

    Sorry to hear that. Likely it was freeze damage related in some way. Ice pushes inward as well as outward.

    I tried a water based exterior adhesive and hated it. Took too long to set up. I switched over to Contact Cement and that worked really well. Holding up great. I applied over polyester gel coat, but I doubt that matters. Should work over epoxy just as well.

    Those drum studs DO NOT come torqued from the factory. Be sure to crank them in tight. I lost a wheel from not knowing that. The nuts were tight, but the studs somehow backed out.

    Matt, if you've never taken your rig over a scale, you might find it interesting. I live near a truck stop that has a CAT scale. I downloaded the app to my phone and I scale all of my projects. Truck by itself, and then "reweigh" with the trailer to determine tongue and axle weights.

    For salt water, look at the Tiedown Engineering disc hydraulic surge kits. They are set up for that. Drum with electric is fine for freshwater, and much cheaper. But the point is that even my little 1750 with a 4 cyl weighs close to 3,000 lbs with the trailer. That is a lot to stop with a...
