a lot of people keep asking me for this in pm......so here it is.
this is a structural peanut butter i use for holes in hulls...and other areas that a super strong structural filler is needed.
you can use this for bedding if you wish.....its a little strong for that....so you might add some...

i have a puller on the bearing carrier.....but it wont move......i dont believe in forcing anything.

i just installed brand new b3's on a twin 5l mercrusier set up.
i tested the lower shift cables and lubricated them before drive instllation and the cables were fine....lots of easy movement.
the drives went on very hard due to a time hardned coupler......we actually had to kick the drives on...
ok.....
i have a 05 5L (twins) with efi.
i just installed new ecm's......one engine fired and ran...the other didnt.
the non running motor has no spark.
i swapped the ecm to the non running motor.......no results.
swapped the two relays......same results....nuthin...
swapped the coil.....no...
lots of people have asked me this since i figgured it out......i finally had time to post it.

i am rigging a '05 30 footer with twin 305 merc/bravoIII's efi.
i did not pull the motors.
each motor has a power steering pump...cooler and hook ups off the coolers.
the problem is that there is only the starboard steering ram. the port does not have one.
the hoses do not look long enough...

i have all the in/outs blocked off as best i can....lol
i pumped the pressure to 17 lbs and let it sit for half an hour......it is slowly going down and has now lost 4 lbs......

i have a 1955 merc 50 hp ...
the shift shaft system is different than the "newer" 1972 unit.
the 55 seems to have some bearings where the shift shaft inserts into the lower.
the 72 is the oppisite and a more common set up.
the casting seems to be a bit different between the two lower units...
we are ripping the lower off an old merc.
all the bolts are undone and we are still having a problerm....is there some kind of retaining clip at the top of the shaft?
we can seperate the lower about 1/4 inch...but then it seems to hang up...
any opinions?
