    17 Today

Only 3 or 4 big'uns, but the rest were keepers. Had just as many or more short fish... but they don't count. I looked for someone fishing off a dock or the bank to take them because I got a freezer full, but no one was out so I threw them all back to be caught another day.

    Only 4 Today

Only managed to get 4 Crappie and 1 White Bass today, but with the wind blowing like it was I thought that was pretty good. What the fish lacked in quantity, they made up for in quality. 3 were real nice slabs and one of those was a brute!

Another Couple of Decent Days on Neely

Got out on Fri. and Sat. and the fish were still biting pretty good. 2 of the 3 biggest. The majority of the fish bit on the electric chicken color jig: ... but the 3 big slabs in the second pic wanted the popsicle color instead and the smaller fish wouldn't touch it. The bigger...

    Cold Water Immersion and Survival

I always watch these videos at the beginning of every cold water season to remind myself of what to expect and what will happen should I fall my dumb butt overboard in cold water. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1xohI3B4Uc We don't get much ice here, but I still like to watch this one...

    Well I Never

... really caught much on the color Electric Chicken, but decided to give it another try yesterday and the Crappie and Spotted Bass ate it up like candy yesterday. It really is a putrid looking color combination, but it worked great.

A Decent Day on Neely Henry

Got the boat out on the water for the first time since the restoration yesterday and did some trolling for Crappie. Didn't catch anything for the first couple of hours, not even a sniff and was fearing the skunk! Then all of a sudden the fish turned on and I had some pretty good action...

'99 50 hp 4 stroke Merc dumping fuel from the fuel pump

Was checking my engine out today after the resto so I could go out tomorrow and found a fuel leak. Every time I squeeze the primer bulb fuel squirts out of this black box on the back of the engine. It's where the main fuel line connects and 2 other fuel lines feed the 4 carbs, I'm guessing...

    Quicksilver 3000 Shifter/Throttle Handle

Is there an easy way to take this thing off without springs and stuff flying everywhere? Mine is set in a piece of plastic trim that I'd like to take off and paint. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Farmers are troubled...

Did anyone else see this? http://www.suntimes.com/news/nation/8332556-418/alabama-farmers-say-american-workers-dont-cut-it.html Looks like the price of produce will go up and won't be as abundant.

Unruly Nautolex Vinyl, Hatches, and #88 Adhesive (pics)

Well the #88 adhesive did pretty good on the large flat areas of the hatches for my boat, but when it came times to roll and secure the edges it wasn't worth a flip. I tried clamping them, I tried taping them, I tried clamping and taping them and it aint a workin' and it aint a gonna work!!! I...

Carpet Glue and Paint Removal Made Easy

While stumbling around on the interweb I came across this little gadget and thought I'd give it a try, so I ordered some and they came in yesterday. They're Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Pads and holder for my 4 1/2" angle grinder, the pads are held to the holder with a hook and loop...

    Glass vs Epoxy

So what's the difference between "glassing in" a deck and just using epoxy resin instead? Is it the cost of the epoxy?

Nautolex Vinyl, 88 Adhesive, and Sealer/Primer?

As some on here already know, I'm going to be installing Nautolex vinyl on my boat decking and have a few questions. 1. The 88 adhesive instructions say that I should seal my wood to prevent moisture absorption from the adhesive. I'm going to use Spar Urethane (exterior grade) for this, the...

'97 Tracker Pro Deep V Facelift

I've been taking my Tracker apart and ripping carpet off of decking for the past few day and thought I'd post some pics. I did this about 6 years ago and it kinda irks me to have to do it again, but it's my own fault for not using the right materials. I used the Home Depot "marine" carpet and...

    Nautolex Vinyl Question.

For all of those that have installed Nautolex vinyl on their decks. How slick is the regular vinyl deck covering when it gets wet? Does it get slicker in cold weather? I see they have the regular vinyl and the non-skid deco-dot vinyl and I can't decide between the 2. I'd like to save a little...

    The power of expanding foam!

I'm pretty sure the end of this vid is staged, but still pretty funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAIY0I5GGw4&playnext=1&list=PL683CF1AC136D07EA Something to think about when you're installing it in your boat.

    Making money on restoring tinnies?

I know an old guy that lives on the lake and he has 4 or 5 tinnies (pack rat) between 12-16' and they all need work. I'm sure I can talk him out of 2 or 3 them for cheap, especially if I say something about buying them in front of his wife.;) They all need new decks, carpet/vinyl, probably...

    Problem

These geniuses seem to be having just a little bit of difficulty removing a lower unit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4gjmXIIKZI&feature=related I'm glad I researched this before attempting my first impeller change.
