Ok got it. I just can’t understand why I can’t get pressurized water up to the impeller. Even if I squeeze the muffs together by hand. It’s almost as if there is a valve in the circuit that doesn’t open until the key is on or something. ??

Great diagram. Where did you find that?

Ok so i put full pressure water on the muffs. Made sure they were sealed as well as possible over the intakes of the drive. And I pulled the corresponding hose off the impeller inside the engine bay. No water at all. So now I am officially thoroughly confused. Also, with hose pressure on the...

? Not sure how to do that, but it runs ok in the lake so I guess it’s not obstructed.

Yes it’s possible that flush pipe has a check valve. That would prevent flooding the boat it the cap weren’t sealed so I think that’s plausible.

2005 5.0 gxi fuel pump pressure spec

What is the factory spec for fuel rail pressure on a 5.0gxi? I checked mine today and got 50 psi while idling.

    New to Volvo family

So I connected hose water to my old Merc muffs on my VP SX drive today and turned the water pressure on full blast. It was spraying like crazy around the outdrive. So I took the cap off the engine bay flush connection expecting to get hose water coming out. Instead I got nothing. All that water...

    Parts lists with part numbers

Yeah that website works pretty well. Whats the best source for actual OE Volvo parts? I’ve learned over the years to stick with OE parts.

    Parts lists with part numbers

Actually the Volvo site below points to part number 3817287. Im also looking for tensioner and idle pulley and I’m not confident in the part numbers. They give a diagram with all the parts numbered, but no reference to look up those numbers. Very frustrating.

    Parts lists with part numbers

I agree with ESG, it used to be easy to drill down to the part you need with the old iboats interface. But now it’s not that simple. Other sites I used to use don’t seem to be there anymore either. Scott thanks for that website. It’s a bit clunky but better than nothing. That’s the new and...

    Parts lists with part numbers

Hi I’ve got a 2007 5.0GXI G and I’m having trouble looking up my serpentine belt part number. My shop manual doesn’t list any part numbers. Is there a separate manual or reference somewhere to easily look up part numbers for a model year or serial series engine? Thanks

    Standard US sending unit resistances

I don’t believe so. It has the temp sender in the rear port head. I’ll probably have to change that when i switch to Sierra gauges.

    Standard US sending unit resistances

Yeah I think it’s proprietary Faria. I’ll have to replace the sender I think on that gauge. What a pain.

    Standard US sending unit resistances

The only online reference I could find shows US water temp 100-250 degrees using a 30-450 ohm sender. And 33-240 ohms for oil press and fuel gauge. Is that wrong?

    Standard US sending unit resistances

Hi gang, Volvo 5.0GXi with Faria gauges. I’m looking at replacing my gauge set but have concerns my Faria gauge sending units may not have standard US resistances to enable a new set of Sierra gauges to read correctly. I’ve searched but it’s difficult to find much info on this topic. Wondering...
