is it possible/feasible to retrofit power steering to my boat. maxum 1700, merc 3.0lk, alpha 1 gen II. these boats are not as cheap over here in ireland as they are in the state where i'm sure it wouldn't be worth it! just a thought...

any tips for using a boat during the winter months? i'd like to have access to it for fishing and maybe a boxing day ski. if the water was drained between uses could it sit during potential freezing conditions or am i safer just to winterise and wait until spring? i'm in ireland...

New to the forums and new to boating. The boat i'm looking has a 3.0lx merc? Is this any better/different to the 3.0l? I've read somewhere that there is a power difference. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm in the process of buying my first boat so I apologise for the question if it seems silly. By looking at the pics below can you tell if the boat has power steering? Is the resevior on the top right for PS fluid?
