    Brakes for trailer with 12" wheels

    I have seen 7" drum brakes that might work with my Escort trailer with 12" wheels. The whole rig (boat, motor and trailer) probably weighs around 1800# dry, and both of my tow vehicles weigh more than twice that ('99 Dakota, '05 Pacifica). Is it even worth adding brakes, especially such small ones?
