Post a pic of your starcraft!

An Islander made it's way to Russia, that's the first one I've seen. Welcome aboard, Islander looks great.

    1969 holiday

Nice interior work, can't imagine them not replacing the wood transom when doing all that work. That year of SC the issues that would come up are rib end and spray rail cracks since it's prior to the placement of the hull braces in the early 70's.

Helmsman is good stuff. I recommend the gloss as is has the most solids.

Deep Cycle Battery not good for starting??

Is there even a problem with starting or anything other than wondering about hurting the motor? No a deep cycle lead acid battery won't hurt your Johnson but using a starting battery for anything other than starting could lead to a problem with a dead starting battery.

    SOTY 2024

Seems maybe interest is waning for these boats being brought back to their former glory. I know social media is taking some of the boats but I think people enjoy having the instant gratification of likes and ogles on the apps. Anyway I knew of a couple boats splashed this year and besides that...

Helmsman Spar urethane is what I've used for my decking. You could also use the Old Timers formula.

I see what you're saying the motor mount block, terminology I guess as I see most guys calling the deck supports a stinger too.

This looks more to me like a saw cut the Al as the material is removed and it's straight across the top, not a common area for a stress crack.

No money in making people well, they spread you around for weeks or months to everyone and then never tell you what's wrong or even venture a guess until they all get a cut. Here try these pills...

Most times belly tanks are held down with rubber or neoprene padding, the tank should not be used to support the deck. My SS belly tank has hold downs on the sides and on each end.

Yeah 4 amps will take a while to charge up big deep cycles. Check to make sure there's a relay on your TM power, sometimes people forget those little things. ;)

Onboard chargers are the bomb, best thing I did in my SS build for the 3 deep cycles and starting battery. I boxed all my batteries that use the strap for the hold down.

    Stock Windshield Height?

He's got a 67 Holiday and asked the same question in his thread on the Holly but no answers so he started this thread.

Tough going this time of year working on a boat outdoors. 👍

    1974 Starcraft 21’ Holiday

2 good coats of OTF should be good. Double pumps, I find the bilge pump to be the least used device in my trailered boat. Only time mine runs is when I check it before heading to the water.

Suggestions on how to fill my onboard gas tank?

Yeah that's what I meant by grounding, putting the portable tank on the ground.
