    wood handle preservative question

What do you recommend using to protect the wood handles on this (photo) new to me, lightly used wheelbarrow? I'm thinking some kind of oil w cleaner. I'm only looking for it to be a worker up at camp, not pretty.

    StarCraft Starcheif Throttle Control

I think you're correct - pictures/1000's of words. Start w/entire boat and then closer into your subject/question

convert a cuddy from sterndrive to outboard?

A "a 80's 19ft cuddy"? First off, it's structurally sound hull w no rot, stringers strong as new (or better), right?

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

You're gonna love it! Family and snow - that's the way to go. I've always wanted to go to Miin in the winter. Yes, find a snow covered hill and something to slide on, and make a snow - anything. Best when you can see it out the window, after you get back in by the fire, with family - priceless

    Fuel treatment question.....

Greetings - sounds like nice boat, but with no pics - does it really exist? your plan seems good, re-evaluate where you are in the spring as far as what'll burn well in your engine. Fuel, chemicals in general, have come a long way in recent years

Using navigation lights with bow lights in unison.

like those "cool-looking" underwater lights, often at the stern - tied up and not running at the dock, fine, very cool - while underway, most confusing to other boaters underway, and dangerous for all... running a boat after dark is not for the faint-of-heart, or the uninformed

    Moving 3rd toon back

I'd be concerned what moving the center-log back would do to the hydraulic performance of such a 'hull' (aside from structural concerns of the entire craft)

    Shore power stopped working suddenly

Not sure if you're plugged-in to the same shore power supply outlet, or for how many seasons. Maybe verify that still supplying power. Some have breakers, some are turned-off at their source (especially this time of year). As AD said, "Its all tracing wires and power"

    Engine bay blower question

I don't think that's fanatical. My regular procedure: Open, look, run blower, start, close and run blower more til out and running. I agree with others, the hydraulic design parameters (gases are fluids too) are likely for closed-hatch conditions, but since the gases you want to evacuate are...

2001 Searay 210SD- Rear spay hose assy replacement

"they" was (is?) a lot of people with sometimes competing interests. As an engineer and designer, I know that those who control the $ often determine what is ultimately built. Unfortunately, I don't even think about replacing water-system components on our 1998 boat these days (If I ever get a...

    Mid cabin bilge

Dealing with the rot is one (big) thing. But before you do (if you want to get into that), I'd suggest determining how it happened. Did she possibly sit on a trailer for awhile, exposed to rain and/or snow, without properly draining? Our 25 ft wouldn't drain that area unless the trailer she...

    Humility

Just look out the window of an airplane over the south-west on a clear day, and go from there. We are tiny specs, but we live in our own little heads (and think about our tiny efforts on our tiny boats). Interesting (maddening?) to think about - fun dockside topic. Can't wait to get to the...
