Here are some guns that I'm trying to find an approximate or estimated value on and maybe some of you guys can help me out.:) First, they are...

.....ahhh, boxing day...the week of bargains. Ok, so who (honestly) has been out shopping??? Honestly....I haven't.....and you probably won't find me within a country mile of a store (except a grocery store) this week. You will find me tho'....probably out for a beer or lunch with a buddy or...

What is the best Christmas Gift you ever received?

Just wondering what gifts you may recall getting in the past that have meant the most to you? (not including kids or spouses of course ;)) For me, I think it was when my wife (not at the time tho') got me a kitten. Growing up our family always had a cat and I guess I had mentioned this to her...

Your Teens, responsibility, community and family

I've been thinking about this issue for a while so I wanted to put it out to you Iboaters to shed some light and get some perspective on a huge issue currently out there these days and certainly going on up around these parts right now. Ok: If your teenage daughter or son made a HUGE...

    3 Cylinder Flywheel Compatibility Question

Does anyone know if the same year of 3 cylinder flywheel is common for both the 70hp and 90hp engines? (whether the prestolite ignition and/or the newer merc type ignition). OR is the 90hp a 'bigger' flywheel or somehow different so that there is no compatibility. Many Thanks Guys!! BP

    Houston...we have a problem....any advice or help?

Ok, after many, many faithful seasons my 20+ year old force (1990/90hp/3 cylinder) may have pooped it's pants. I was about 100' from the dock, throttled it back and noticed the motor running rough and poor...but still running. After another 15' it stalled out...then restarted and limped...

    I'm still lovin' this motor!!

Ok...I'm heading into my 5th boating season with my Force '90/90hp and damn...this thing has never stopped or bagged it on me. I (finally) launched the boat this past week after an (extraordinary long) seasonal storage...dropped the engine down after launching, hit the choke and the...

    Winnipeg welcomes the Atlanta Thrashers!!

Congrats to Winnipeg......for a successful move in getting the struggling Atlanta Thrashers franchised moved north. It's been an incredibly long and tiring job trying to get the NHL, under the control of that dubious little G-Bettman, to think of allowing (or regaining) any more Canadian NHL...

Assistance needed: added a temp/speed sensor to my Lowrance and not working

Ok guys, quick backstory: I have a good older (10 years?) working Lowrance X28 high definition depth sounder. I bought a (new) ST-T temp/speed sensor for it and plugged it in the cabling without issue. I have not fully installed it off the transom but I tried it out in a bucket of water to see...

    Snow!!....hey, what is this stuff?

What the.....it's snowing out. I woke up this morning to find a few cm's (couple inches) of snow outside...and it's still snowing. I know there have been quite a few snow/weather threads but fortunately we have somewhat exempt.....apart from the usual rain. Our total snow days this year...

    Quick Rochester Quadrajet Question- CFM/flow

As a few of you know I am set to do some tuning on the Rochester Quadrajet I have on my recently acquired '72 Chev, many thanks for the info on that by the way. I have another question regarding this carb that some of you might have some insight into: Any idea as to how much CFM flow these carbs...

    (Expert?) Carb Advice Needed

Ok, I have a '72 Chev 1/2 ton with the original Rochester Quadrajet on it and I have started doing some tuning on the carb and I'm curious if anybody has any good tips on setting this carb up to best running. First: Jet adjustment? I've heard that most of these always use...2? turns out from...

Hang in there Australia!!- tough times

Wow, given the general 'up' mood at this time of year, its hard to fully appreciate the scale of the flood going on there. They were saying on the news today that an area the size of B.C (my province) which is equivalent to probably about 3-4 U.S states is completely flooded. Regardless...

Tis the season....big Red is coming!!!

....nope, I don't mean Santa Claus. I mean, yes....that fabulous time of year...the International World Junior Hockey Tournament and Big Red is...of course the Canadian World Junior team. For all you Northern U.S folks, particulary those from upper New York, it is being held in Buffalo this...

    Bought a Classic truck....now to ship...hmmm

Well...never say never. I found a really nice classic truck in North East California and low and behold.....well, I bought it. It's a 72' Chevy 1/2 ton....rust free, sweet truck. Now, my challenge is to figure out how to get this back to either Bellingham or Blaine, Washington where I will drive...

Stainless vs. Aluminum- A few questions

I just acquired a stainless 19P. prop for my o/b motor and I was wondering if anyone had seen any advanced mechanical issues show up on the lower unit due to the excessive weight (3x) of the stainless? I have to think that I'd be losing a few hp just by spinning that heavier mass around....but...

So you want to make a few bucks eh?

Ok...I know lots of the Iboat gang make a few side dollars out of buying and selling boats. I also know that the economy hasn't returned yet back to preferred levels for a lot of our southern neighbours. Now, I also know that boats in the U.S are quite a bit cheaper than up north here so...here...

Electric (lake) trolling motor size question

Anyone have any advice as to the minimum size electric trolling motor I could get away with on a 17' Bayliner Capri/90hp O/B? The boat is in good shape and not too heavy....so I'm thinking maybe I don't need anything too heavy duty here. I'm starting to putz around the local lake a bit...

    350 SBC Forged Crankshaft Questions

Does anyone have any info or experience with GM possibly putting forged crankshafts in any of the truck 350's? Particulary in the era of 1969-1975? To my understanding this would have been due to the heavy duty aspect of 'some' of these motors....but I'm not sure if it is/was just a rumour or...

    late 60's Z28 DZ302 C.I info questions

Does anyone know the more accurate hp figures attributed to the late 60's DZ 302 Z28 engines? They were advertised as 290hp but I've read they were putting out quite a bit more than that which I believe. To my understanding they were high HP reinforced blocks, 11:1 compression, solid lifter cam...
