    That's the lean/rich idle knob Gary. The knob is used to smooth out the engine at idle. The numbers, are really just reference numbers so you can tell where you were.....least ways that's what I've always thought. d:)

    Welcome jayray! The only thing the rectifier does is convert the AC voltage from the stator to DC for battery charging. I think your problems lies in the issue of the boat setting for two years. Your carbs likely need overhauled to get the varnish out of them. Easy way to find out, next out...

    Another Boating Tragedy

    A 32 year old man drowned at a local lake after jumping in to help his son who had fallen over boat from the pontoon boat they were on. As I understand, the man could not swim. The son was OK. The incident occured at Piedmont Lake in Belmont Co., Ohio. His remains have not yet been recovered.

    Trouble Getting The Right Exhaust Shutter

    89' 4.3 liter Merc....found one exhaust shutter laying in the exhaust boot. So looked up the part number and verified it cause the broke shutter had the PN stamped in it. Old PN14348. Superceded up to 807166A 3. OK...got them. Problem is they don't fit. The new ones are of a "new" design...
