    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Starcraft on the Water! The boat is ready to go for the summer with my new Mercury 115 command thrust on the back. I took her out on the Delaware River three times over the past two weekends and overall things are running great! Still going to keep working on boat projects as she doesn't...

Update pics to share. Electrical test passed for bow light, stern light, fish finder, and bilge pumps. Got a second battery and my one from three years ago seems to still be going thanks to my occasional trickle charger. Sanded up the original teak step pads with some teak oil. This teak on...

    1984 starcraft islander

Original floors were 1/2 thickness but most upgrade to 5/8 or 3/4 to eliminate any flex under your step. I used ACX plywood which was described as the next best exterior grade behind marine grade for about 40% of the price. My method for making template was to mark and measure the width of...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Hello, A few updates to share on my Supersport. Feel like I am getting close but still lots of work to do. This is definitely the year! First thing I'll show off these cannon rod holders that were a gift from my uncle. They mounted up really nice on the splashwell top. Going to troll up some...

A few pics to share from a nice spring days work. Lots to do still but getting closer to a spring splash. First focus was the passenger dashboard, I had cut one before with holes for a glovebox and radio but due to my console mod it didn't fit anymore due to the gunnel cutout I have going on...

Riveting question about riveting decking to ribs. Same holes or new holes?

My technique for any old rivets has been aggressively drilling them out. If they get loose and the tails are hanging on then I use a set of vice grips to grab and pull on the tail. I have used up a bunch of harbor freight 3/16 and 1/4 drill bits drilling out old rivets and drilling the holes to...

Thanks for the tip. I moved this to the top of the side board. Rookie mistake on my part for sure and I really appreciate the veteran advice.

Starting Wiring. Im pretty confident with this since I took an electronics class back in high school and I do wiring for my Lionel trains. I ended up using loops of zip ties, zip tied to the to factory gunnel bolts, to hold the wire runs. Decals came in the mail! Also have 4 rod holders...

1973 starcraft ss restore in progress

Best wishes and get well soon. Been working on my SS for three years and this thread was one of the best that gave me the inspiration and knowledge to do this project.

Thanks for following along and the kind words. Mistakes are just all part of the story! Overall I'm happy with the way everything is going together and I'm proud that I haven't had too many disasters or injuries along the way.

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

A few progress pics to share. Both windshield sections are now installed so my old Starcraft has a pretty face again. I never had a center piece for the windshield from the PO and i am ok with that because there is no way it would line up nice. Spent a lot of time doing windshield restore and...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Last post was incomplete and barely coherent so here is a better cold weather update, complete with pics of fuel fill hose installed. This does complete my system of fuel hoses: fill, delivery, and vent. As mentioned (haha) I got some tie down straps that I am going to install to hold the gas...

And this is why we rivet our gunwales!

My gunnel sides had tabs that were screwed into the transom with the same screws used to screw the splash well onto the transom. I ended up putting a through bolt through this same place instead.

SHSU-I can see what you see but it's not a pencil. Just a rusty flathead that I was using on the hose clamps.

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Did a mock up today of how I want my stern to layout with the battery boxes, and gas tank. Not the best pic but this is how it looked in progress. Im going to get a second fuel tank of the same size and have one sitting flat, and another vertical as shown. I want to be sure I have good fuel...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Some Friday pics as promised. Had to make my own windshield t bolts. Used some original bolts that were thru the factory transom. Then I worked on getting the captains windshield installed. Once that was riveted in I put on a piece of diamond plate to start to seal up the console. I figure...
