    I'm actually starting to believe that it's not the motor at all and possibly the hand throttle. I'll probably just go ahead and change the oil because I don't know when it was changed last and I'll be able to see it then if there's any water in it

    I just bought a Triton with a 50 HP Yamaha 2003 motor. It has a running issue but going through everything I noticed that the oil was filled all the way to the top! Why would somebody do that? Was the previous owner just dumb? Or was there a reason somebody would do that? Still trying to...

    I just bought a 2003 Triton with the X51 in the dash. It comes on for a brief second then the screen goes blank. I'm sure this issue has been resolved before but I just can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated thank you.

    I will say that the boat hasn't been run since at least June up until yesterday. I hope I'm not in over my head on this one. I know there is a fix for the corrosion issue but parts and labor could cost anywhere from $1000 up to $1500

    Are the corrosion issues just with salt water application? That seems to be what I'm reading about but I don't really know. Or is this just that year and model across the board?

    Starts instantly, idles great and quiet but when I give it gas it boggs down or just struggles and won't put out enough power. Where do i start besides the plugs.
