    Rectifier compatibility?

    A mechanic friend gave me a water cooled rectifier for a V4 crossflow (year unknown). I have a 1985 90hp Johnson V4 which uses a watercooled rectifier that looks strikingly familiar. While they look similar will this rectifier actually work on my application?

    What Is My Tach Saying To Me?

    While my engine is on earmuffs I raised the RPM just slightly and I can see the tachometer needle drops off as soon as I reach 2K (actually zeroes out). Is this indicating a problem with my ignition systems?

    1985 90 Johnson V4... I want to replace all the hoses from my tank to the carbs. Can I buy fuel line from off the reel(West Marine)or must I buy the individual part #s at the dealer? Also if the former, anyone know what size line this should be (assuming all sections are the same size?)

    When doing a spark gap test, do you ground out the other spark wires to the block? Will a piece of wire with aligator clips work?
