should the site glass in the fuel filter be filled to the top or only 1/2 way I have a brand new fuel pump, and fuel lines, also I used a vacumm tester on the lines from the gas tank right to the fuel pump its self and no leaks, so why is the site bowl only 1/2 filled. Thanks Bob
one question I took the lower unit off my 1984 7.5HP Mercury and to find only one vaine lift on the impeller where could of the other pieces of gone should I beware and find these other 5 pieces will they clog any thing and where should I start to look. Thanks Bob

what is the best test to use on a old engine when you do not know how many hours are on it, compression testing with a good battery will give you a good reading across all cylinders but the engine still can worn to the max, a cylinder leak down test will tell how good the rings are holding up...

is there any way to test the seals, reed valves, rings, with out being able to crank the engine, can you use a vacuum test just the same way as a lower unit would be tested. or will you loose the vacuum pasted the rings.
