    Glastron V-147 Transom

I'm trying to figure out if my transom is original, as I'll possibly be replacing it soon. Boat is a 1969/1970 Glastron V-147 "Fish 'N Ski" B is dimensional lumber (2x6, or 2x8) which doesn't appear to be glassed in at all, only attached with the hooks (A) to the outer hull. C is plywood...

    Bunk placement on tri-hull

Well... actually a Glastron "Aqua-Lift II" hull. Where should they be? Definitely somewhere between the "V" and the outer sponsons, but where? -- Aaron

    Maximum distance between bunk supports?

I recently bought a boat/trailer, and the trailer is (big surprise) totally not fitted to the boat. The trailer as I received it had two 3.5' vertical 2x4 bunks - only problem was they weren't even touching the hull. All the weight was being supported on the keel on the rollers. In replacing...

    Time to give up?

last year I was given a free 195x Johnson JW-10 Seahorse that wasn't running, and hadn't been run in probably 10 years. Last spring the coils were replaced, timing set, carb rebuilt, etc., etc. After using it several times with no issue, it died one day while fishing. Having started the motor...

    Effect of carbon core wires?

So last year I was given a free 195x Johnson JW-10 Seahorse that wasn't running, and hadn't been run in probably 10 years. Last spring the coils were replaced, timing set, carb rebuilt, etc., etc. It would start (with difficulty) , but wouldn't run correctly. After much consternation and help...

JW-10 Seahorse: Spark Plug Lead Routing

This past weekend I got stranded on the lake due to a spark plug lead pulling off the coil (see: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=195224 ) ...and I'm wondering if my spark plug leads aren't routed incorrectly, and thus getting more strain on them than they should. Anyone have pictures...

    Estimated top speed?

So after my saga attempting to get my motor running: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=191183&highlight=aborgman I finally got out and ran the thing in some real water. It ran well - started reasonably easy, didn't run hot, much quieter than the old motor, no problems... but I expected...

    Johnson Seahorse (JW-10) not sucking...

Motor has: 1) Good spark 2) Correct timing 3) reeds in good shape 4) rebuilt carb 5) Good compression numbers (80-82psi) ...and it still won't start for anything, and the few times I've gotten it started (using starting fluid) it hasn't run very well or for very long. So I took it out in the...

1952-54 Johnson Seahorse 3HP (JW-10): Carb problems and other issues

Pulled flywheel, adjusted timing/points, re-gapped plugs - now getting good spark. Motor fired up with some starting fluid, but wouldn't run. Noticed gas leaking out front of carb. A carb rebuild later (all new gaskets, new float, new float needle/seat)... ...and it's still has gas leaking...
