    V4 with V6 large gearcase??

    Best I can find this came on 100hp commercial(1984-90)120 hp(1985) and 140hp v4(1985) Has 15 tooth spline,4 3/4"gearcase.all other dims same as my 78 v4 140,bolt holes etc.can anyone help with identifying as I want to change it from xlong to long shaft.need part number for long(20") driveshaft...

    78 small gearcase vs 79 large gearcase

    1978 140 hp v4. manual shift,20 in shaft small gearcase. 1979 manual shift 25 in shaft large gearcase.Will my drive shaft 20 exchange with the shaft on the 25" large gearcase to use on my motor?everything else seems to be the same. ps what is the diff between small & large gearcase. is bigger...

    78 rude 140 v4 driveshaft change.

    What is involved in changing driveshaft? 25" to 20"? I can get both.Seloc is confusing,and wrong in a lot of cases. thanks.

    78 erude 140 v4 long to short shaft.

    what is the exact difference between a long shaft and short shaft?I can get a long shaft lower but need a short shift rod.how much to cut from the long rod to work.(I have a short driveshaft to change)thanks. ps Im giving up on the hydromechanical and going strictly to a mechanical.

    78 erude v4 140hp lower unit interchange?

    can I replace my manual shift lower with a 77? hydromechanical shift unit? are shift patterns same.everything else matches up(except shift rod which I can take care of.mainly shift pattern. Thanks much.

    Have a 1977 powercat,19' center console,140 hp rude.only trailer about 4 miles,sits on trailer rest of time. Best support bunk or roller?Thanks davexx ps;boat mfg out of bus so no info from them.

    78 rude 140 V4 shift shaft question.

    Have above motor, locked lower.Got another lower on ebay.my problem?my shift shaft has a fixed gooseneck ,threaded at bottom.New has lollipop top with eye, threaded at top,different length.any known adapters or must I cut both and join with connector to get right adjustment? Thanks in advance. Dave
