Replacing carpet and have a few questions for the experts...

Ok I have questions for the many peeps that have already done it. First some basics; the boat is a 2000 Lund Alaskan and I have 3 of the 4 carpeted wood pieces out of the boat (the bench seats/storage along port and starboard) and the carpet and most of the adhesive has been removed. The wood...

I need help! What is the BEST brand for bilge pumps?

I've gone through 3 bilge pumps in 9 years. The last one lasted less than 1 full year. My Lund Alaskan came with an Attwood 350gph. It kept sucking up bits of weeds, line and zebra mussels and popping fuses and eventually fried. I replaced it with an Attwood 500gph. It kept sucking up bits of...

Hey all any idea where I can get a correct weight for this outboard? I need to replace the impellor and am trying to decide if I should risk taking the motor off with the boat at my seawall or just put the whole thing on the trailer...

    Battery box flooded....question--

It rained. Alot. The bilge was full and the water was up over the battery box. The box was flooded. Apparently my bilge pump switch was turned off. The battery was dead when I tried to pump out the water. My question is this...If a battery is underwater does the water itself act as a conductor...

2000 20' Alaskan - water in storage areas

I have a 2000 Lund Alaskan with 2 large stowage areas forward of a livewell in the bow. Both of these areas get water (cups to gallons) in them when it rains and when I am cleaning/power washing the boat. I use the boat from April to November/December (ice-in) for fishing and duck hunting so it...

Boat hitting trailer, need help or ideas

First off, my boat is not in the pic but is similar. The front of the hull/keel is hitting the part of the trailer where the "V" is attached to the tongue during launch/retrieve. Is there a pad or something that can be added to this area to prevent damage? There is a roller but it does not...

Need 25hp kicker to lock full up. Need ideas.

I'm not sure of year maybe '80s...It has the lock to prevent motor from kicking up in reverse. I think this is a tiller model that has been rigged up. This was on the boat when I bought it. Right now when I run the main the 25hp will raise up running thru the water, the water pushes it up...

'92 150hp single or dual batteries and a trim question.

What should be on this thing 1 battery or 2? The previous owner added a second battery because (I think) the starter was begining to go. I'm going to rebuild the starter because a new one is $275. Shouldn't a single battery be enough to crank the engine over? Engine runs like a dream when I...

I have a 2000 Lund Alaskan with 2 large stowage areas forward of a livewell in the bow. Both of these areas get water in them when it rains and when I am cleaning/washing the boat. I use the boat from April to November/December (ice) for fishing and duck hunting so it gets pretty messy. Is...
