    True but after removing the ball bearing and spring from the asv the filter seems full again. Well 3/4 full as opposed to near empty. I take it they shouldn’t be full to the top.

    Thanks all. Problem solved by correct adjustment of the shift cable. 6 inches from centre of barrel to eye, 2mm up from bottom of the anchor pin slot. Mo more cutting out in either forward or reverse

    I found the cable badly routed and corrected it and there is minimal drag but the problem is still there.

    This was also in salt water. The boat was put on a ship from Liverpool uk to Athens Greece after I fixed her up in an outdoor boat yard in Liverpool. I can only think that a rodent did it and hope that someone can chime in with any other possibilities

    Thanks for the reply. When I installed them they were fine and not twisted. Looks in some ways that some kind of chemical got to the shift bellows but I can’t und how. There are 2 small holes there too
