Anyone want a coupon? This is not spam.

The rules say direct linking is allowed. I came across this on a hot deals forum i frequent. Its a 10 dollar off 30 at osh, when you complete a survey. Home depot and Lowes take competitor coupons if there is an osh in the area. (At least they do here in cali). So, it may be worth a try for you...

Why are we different from other folks?

This is slightly off topic but I posted this to ask mainly the resto guys. What is it about our genetic make up or whatever it may be that cause us to tear things apart just to see how they work, or rebuild a 30 year old heap of a boat, come up with stupid but sometimes successful inventions in...

How to flip the hull over for paint?

This might be a really dumb question, but how do you fiberglass boat guys flip over a hull for paint? Right now the deck, and stringer are out, the cap is off, its a bare hull but has a new transom in. I am not sure I want to flip the boat over with no structural pieces inside. I was wondering...

Building a motor mount, question for you guys.

We are going to start building the motor mount for the tri-hull. When we tore it apart there was basically nothing left of the old one. We took measurements of the bilge so we know where to put it but I had wanted to lay grade 8 studs into the motor mount so there would be zero water...

How to remove wood from flimsy cap?

Here is a pic of my cap, we took it off the boat and realized that the wood on it is also rotting, the red lines show where the wood is. I was wondering how would I remove this wood? I tried prying on it and it flexes the fiberglass a lot and if I try prying it off it WILL break the glass. It is...

Sweeeeet!!!! How do I repair this?

Ok so we have a few holes in the hull that go through the gelcoat but seem to stop there. What would you smart fellas here suggest? Sand down gelcoat around and build the gelcoat back up? Or do I need to put any mat in these? Most likely after we get the transom in and the cap popped we...

Transom out of 2 3/4" pieces of plywood.

So the manual says that my engine/drive combination needs a transom that is 2 - 2 1/4" so if I laminate 2 pieces of 3/4" ply that gives me approx 1.4" seeing as how 3/4" ply is only really .7004 or something. So adding the 1/4" from the hull thickness I get almost 2" of transom. What should I...

    Tri-hull owners I need help/ideas.

I posted this in my restore thread but I don't think anyone is really following it. Plus I figured I might get more help on a tri-hull problem if its geared towards tri-hull restorererers I have these valleys on the sides of the hull that trap water underneath the deck. When we removed the...

Where are you getting your plywood?

I went to home depot today to see how much the pressure treated plywood is for the deck and transom. They only do it for special orders. Are you guys using PT or marine? Does lowes maybe carry it?

Took the drive off the Mercruiser.

We are not very sure of what the previous maintenance was on this thing, Its my buddies boat but it was co owned. If someone could point me in the right direction as to what I need to replace it would be great. We found the drive boot torn allowing water entry. The drive selector shaft looks...

1975 Omega Restore, the project goes on.

My friend and I just picked up a 1975 Omega Trihull with a mercruiser l6. The front motor mount is sinking into the floor, the glass is cracked around the mount indicating some bad rot in the wood underneath. I have no idead where to start with this. How do I asses how much rot there is? I can...
