    2007 8/9.8 hp Nissan outboard starts only with choke wide open and will run only at high revs. Close the choke and reduce revs and she dies off. Fuel filter, pump and carb are all working fine. Is this an ignition issue?

    How about the shift rod bushing and (2)? O rings? Parts dwg shows 2 O rings, I am missing one on top of the bushing if there ever was one...any chance of water penetration here into the base of the shift rod and then down into the LU?...as for your 4 blade prop...really?...wouldn't this only add...

    well the engine oil leak isn't under torqued bolts at the basement power head gasket...all are tight and torqued as supposed to be. Paul, are you saying paint the aluminum with raw West system epoxy? Got the LU off and on my work bench...looks like there is a groove on the propeller thrust...

    I've got oil leaking out around the engine basement gasket on my 2007 8hp Nissan outboard...so replacing the gasket do you recommend using a sealant in addition to the new gasket?

    Gear Oil drains out milky blue

    I drained the gear oil from my 2008 8hp Nissan outboard and it came out milky blue...water in the gearcase? I don't observe any cracks in the housing...are there seals that typically need to be replaced?

    Remote Control Cables all the same?

    I need to replace the remote control cable for the gear shift. The old cable kinked and snapped at the remote hand lever from repeated maintenance. Are all cables the same? A "high performance" Suzuki cable can cost $80 with shipping.

    2008 4 Stroke Nissan High Speed Problem

    My 2008 4 stroke 8hp Nissan outboard runs fine for a while then starts choking for lack of fuel at high speeds. I've changed the fuel pump, filter and tried it with two different fuel tanks and hoses. Same result. Why would she start choking after warming up...still runs fine at lower speeds.

    My 2008 4 stroke 8hp Nissan outboard has started leaking oil after an all night ride this summer. She has never leaked before. I discovered it dripping down the back of the lower unit. its clean amber oil. Not dark and full of carbon deposits. Have I blown the head gasket?

    Anybody have a good way of adding remote control to the choke on an 8hp Nissan OB? I added remote throttle and shift which work fine. But the choke still needed to be set manually. I jerry rigged a choke cable to it, but once open the choke sticks and often won't close without my doing it...

    Remote control gear shift bolt comes loose

    The custom bolt fixing the remote gear shift lever to the engin body has twice unscrewed itself and come loose leaving me to operatye the shift lever manually to get home. This last time the bolt fell away and can not be found. Anybody have a solution for this?
