    distributor brush?

    I took my distributor cap off to clean inside and i found out that I was missing the brush the spring was there, but no brush. I have been having problems getting my boat past 5mph will that make a difference?

    timing problems on 75 merch 8500

    I started timing my 75 merc 8500 and i cannot get the throttle primary pickup below 20 degrees when the secondary pickup is at 27 degrees. Does anyone have any suggestions. thanks

    teleflex tach and 1975 8500?

    I just bought a new teleflex tach for my 1975 85hp merc, and i cannot get the tach to work. I tested the sending wire and i have 4 ac volts, but it will not show on my guage. I have power on the (+). Does it sound like i have a defective tach, or do those guages not work with that motor.
