    1976 75HP Tach Question....

Hi: Ordered a tach today that is adjustable up to 20 poles. I believe my motor has a 12 pole stator set up? Which wires will I be using? It sounds like the choices are white, black and purple? Thanks everyone. I reviewed several posts and then became confused on the # of poles (12 vs. 20)...

1976 Chrysler 75HP Recommendations on Fuel Pump or Carburetor cleaning solvents

What do you use to clean the fuel pump housing/check valves and also the carburetors on these 2-cycle outboards? I've noticed some folks use WD40 while others suggest regular automobile carburetor cleaner. I guess I'm concerned about the carb cleaner being too harsh??

    '76 Chrysler 75 HP--No tilt-trim okay

Hi: I am trying to revive an old 75HP chrysler. Got tilt/trim motor to run, but it will not tilt after trim is all the way out. Motor runs, but no action relative to the tilt function--trim appears to work well. 3 wire unit. What should I try next??? What type of oil is recommended?

Buying a motor for parts?? Good idea??

I'm thinking about picking up a mid-70's 105hp for parts (very cheap). The current motor I'm working on is a 1977 75hp. Would there be many interchangeable parts? Both are 3 cylinder---wondering about ignition parts, lower unit, starter, etc. Just wondering if others have had successes or...

1977 Chrysler 75 hp Exhaust Snout

I'm needing an exhaust snout for my Chrysler outboard. I just purchased this motor and the previous owner said it wouldn't idle well w/o fluctuating rpm. Could the lack of this snout contribute to this problem? Does anyone know where I can get the snout and the two bolts and the washer? I...

    1991 Mercury 200Hp Offshore-Starting Difficulty

My first Post! This engine has been hard to start for several years, even after a professional carb rebuild 2 yrs. ago ($600+). This past summer a mechanic came down to the dock and helped me start it after the primer bulb would not get hard. He indicated that I might have a stuck anti-siphon...
