    Bayliner 245 volt gauge issue

Hi all. I have a 2003 bayliner 245. In prepping to go out today I started the engine and I noticed my volt gauge was twitching near normal voltage and then went to 0. I thought maybe my alternator went out, but when I measured at the battery when running I had 14.6v. The needle still moves a bit...

quicksilver power trim & steering fluid vs automotive power steering fluid

Hi all, Does anyone know if regular automotive power steering fluid is compatible with the quicksilver power trim & steering fluid? Can I mix the two in my power steering pump? or is it best to stick with the quicksilver fluid? Thanks for the input.

Engine lift point - Lifting Eye question

I have a Mercruiser 357 Alpha 4v Mercury repower. It has an existing bracket in the back as a lift point, but doesn't have one in the front. Is this the part I need or is there an existing lift point that I'm somehow not seeing? or is there a better option? I plan to use an engine hoist...

    Exhaust manifold Replacement questions

Agreed, but I don't want to disassemble them now. When I do finally take them apart I will update this thread. I think the homemade saltaway was worthwhile. I might see if I can borrow a boroscope though, that would allow me a look.

    Exhaust manifold Replacement questions

So here is the four year follow-up on the "saltaway concoction, These manifolds were installed in March of 2019. I've been very diligent about rinsing with my homemade version of saltaway as described in my previous comment. My activity is about 90% Brackish with the rest in Fresh water. Add in...

    Oil Pan

I missed the year comment in your comment. My reman was installed in 2007, my guess is that it is a 2005 or 6. Also is the Mercruiser 27-138651 oil pan gasket or the Sierra 18-1237 the better option, or should I look for the GM option? thanks.

    Oil Pan

No doubt, It's not about bling actually it's mostly because I'm not impressed with the oem pan. Pulling the motor just to change the pan is beyond annoying. so I'd like to upgrade in the best way possible to avoid this fate in the future. To bad they don't make a stainless pan.

    Oil Pan

Hi Scott, thanks for the help. I'm not sure if this is the casting number, but it was on a tag on the engine. P/N 865103R88 S/N1G401632 If that isn't it can you tell me where it could be found and I'll look for it? Thanks, oh and as far as the aluminum, do you think it would corrode faster...

    Oil Pan

Cool, hopefully scott will jump in. The pictures I've seen of the OEM part on line, mercruiser 8M0150300, don't show any baffling. It really looks like a simple stamped pan. Thanks

    Oil Pan

Hi all, I have a Mercruiser repower, 357 alpha 4v. My oil pan needs replacing and I'm seriously considering one of the aluminum oil pans you see on amazon, but I'm not exactly sure which year of SBC would be equivalent to my engine block. I think it would be 86-2002 with a one piece rear main...
