Looking for a different distributor than my crab cat dist.

That's pretty slick. Maybe add a little epoxy to it when assembling, to glue to the dizzy body. Would make future changes so much easier.

Can use a 2" hose, but still pulling thru the dipstick tube.

    Pumping out oil from dipstick

The top of the "garden hose fitting" has a stub tube sticking up above it. I clamp the suction hose on the stub tube and use the vacuum pump. Have to wait till my engine comes out before I put the banjo fitting / hose on my oil pan, some obvious reasons.

Need Help Selecting New Trailer Brake Kit/Actuator

Yeah, I believe that too. I would have changed them out to Kodiaks, but the Tiedown calipers and rotors were new on all 4 wheels when I got the trailer last year. Figured I would wait till they needed work before tossing them and upgrading.

Need Help Selecting New Trailer Brake Kit/Actuator

Drew, as you know, I had the same boat, but with a different trailer. I did the actuator rebuild and it worked well with no problems. I also went with the Kodiak dacromat rotors and calipers and they stopped the boat just fine. The boat I have now, I have the Tie Down rotors and calipers, but...

    Which hull brands to avoid

a 20 year old (sometimes more) well cared for and maintained boat is better than a 5 year old neglected boat. Hands down...

    Pumping out oil from dipstick

When there is a PCV in an engine, it has a vent that lets air in from somewhere (usually the air cleaner), otherwise the PCV won't work.

    Exhaust Bellow

Will be a bit louder if removed. Most Bravos use the tube, not a bellows. Works on the Alphas, too. Being an older engine and not as clean burning as the newer ones, you will probably notice some exhaust soot or coloration deposits on the transom / drive. But that is easy to clean off. Just a...

    What is it?

I would venture to guess that someone may have been considering a conversion over to that for some odd reason, and chickened out/ran out of funds or ambition. Reason I say that is that unit is not native to that boat it is in and looking at the cut hose, misfit hardware and no wiring, it came...

    Boat Loading Problem

^^^^ What he said. Trouble wrapping head around a 19 aluminum weighing over 3k. What is a "bed trailer"? You mean a "bunk" trailer? Believe the problems all lie in the trailer and your technique. Get trailer in deeper (but not too deep). You can tell when launching when the boat will float off...

350 Mag Bravo 3 with poor power steering assist

Probably one of the poorer designs when comes to things being aligned, They could have at least put alignment marks / or a keyed alignment in it instead of a "guesstimatem and hope it stays there".. JMHO...

Water penetration in Alpha 1 sterndrive

I am not there to see it, BUT, if leak changes with drive in different trim positions, I would be seriously looking at the bellows. That's the only thing that changes with trim. Maybe he didn't seat the bellows correctly, didn't "time it" in the proper position, use the proper adhesive, or...

    Dust Cap Woes

If you need to beat them on or force them off, there is something going on for them to just fall off when rolling. Doesn't sound logical.

Ahhhh.... The MA roads. Been there, done that when living on the South Shore. But they shouldn't grenade the dust caps.

    Dust Cap Woes

Too bad you don't have a video of your complete procedure for repacking wheel bearings. Been doing automotive, truck and trailer wheel bearings for +- 60 years and never had one just "pop off" after 20 miles of use, or multiple times.
