1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Nothing white there but these Hustler props have a black plastic ring that slips on to cover that gap, I assume thats what you are talking about? Both were new and seemed tight and fine...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Cool. TurningPoint recommended the 14x13 3 blade prop after hearing what my numbers were with the 13.8x13 4 blade. Then they also recommended the 13.75"x15 3 blade after my RPM's were too high with the 13 pitch. Why would I not report back to them? They don't have pitches in-between the 13 and...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

A single data point would be literally a single data point. I made dozens of runs all with the same results. This is a fishing boat and not a pleasure craft. Headway speed and WOT will be what I am running at literally all of the time. Max speed for long runs is what I am looking for. I am...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

It wasn't steady at 6200. It was 6150 flashing into 6200 now and again. So you are probably right that I was hitting the rev limiter. I don't know if my vessel view is any different from yours but just bought it new a couple months ago when I started testing as my analog gauge was off and my...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Trust me I am dumbfounded as well. I am a Validation Engineer by trade so this really pisses me off. I will be sending all data to Turningpoint this afternoon. I already confirmed vesselview can't really be wrong.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

The weight is evenly distributed using 50lb bags of salt to mimick how it will be setup in the spring. All have been stationary in the same places for all testing. I don't have a pontoon. I have a Lund 1625 Fury XL v-hull aluminum. I assume you saw that the original prop was a pontoon prop and...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Yes I apologize for that, I guess it was critical for double checking my numbers. Ok so the vessel view won't be wrong but yet it showed me 6200rpm with that engine which you say is impossible.... Can you explain how I can get "better data" please? Vessel view reports the live data, the prop...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

The normal gear case hub will not fit the bigfoot. The spline count is different. I used the same hub (Turning Point 501) for both three blade props, literally removed it and installed from the 13 to the 15 before sending the 13 back on trade.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Run the numbers with the correct big foot gear ratio please.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Blade design is exactly the same between the 13 and 15 pitch 3 blade Hustler props.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Sorry the 14 slip got cut off. Here it is. Run all your numbers with the correct gear ratio please.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Guys I have a big foot. 2.33 gear ratio. Thought I put that in original post but I guess not. I am in NH and unfortunately I don't think I will be able to get back out until spring. If you all think my numbers are wrong then you are saying that vessel view is giving me bad data. I haven't...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

All size numbers were verified on the prop as that was my first thought too! My original numbers with boat having no extra test weight with the 13 pitch 4 blade was 5700rpm @ 30mph. Slip came out to zero I believe. Once I added weight that it will normally operate with that prop delivered...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

No the big change is from the SAME Hustler prop! Please look at all my posted numbers again. Slip calculation is from the 4800rpm at 29mph with the 15 pitch prop using the Mercury slip calculator. Does no one find it strange I gained 4mph but dropped to 4800RPM?

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Not looking at the snapshot but the live values for RPM and Speed as I make a run. More rpm/power should equal more speed but it doesn't if you look at my numbers. Im getting more speed from the lower rom but higher pitch prop. No issues getting on plane. The boat is at full weight too so it...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

All numbers are live from vessel view. I said odometer but meant I calibrated the RPM analog gauge to match vessel view using the 13 pitch 4 blade prop and the analog gauge has matched the vessel view live rpm ever since.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

That much RPM loss seems excessive when average is supposed to be 200-250. Im getting 4 more mph with the 15 over the 13 and time to plane was fine. Im concerned about not cruising in the recommended 5500-6000 rpm range. Will 4800 rpm max be bad for the motor?

Optimized prop for Lund Fury 1625 XL w/60hp Bigfoot

It will be too late basically by the time it's ready to go but I could load it up with 50lb bags of salt I suppose. It has 117 hours on it running up to 5700. Manufacturer recommended RPM is 5500-6000... Why do you think it won't last long?

Optimized prop for Lund Fury 1625 XL w/60hp Bigfoot

The motor is also aligned so the cavitation plate is inline with the bottom of the transom.
