    Ignition System Identification

    Trying to identify the ignition system (typeI, II, III, or IV) for a 1971 mercury 500 50hp. Have wiring diagrams in my service manual, but the engine has a magneto the colors of the engine wiring don't match the diagrams I have....any help is greatly appreciated.

    Remote Control Cables

    Need some help locating a source for remote control cables that will fit a Quicksilver, Commander side mount control box. The motor is a 1971 mercury 500 50hp. The control box end is flat with a hole in it to fit in the pin.....not having any luck so far. Thanks Terry
