    just bought a used merc 25 hp put it in a barrell of water and it seems to only pump water when reved up and also where all is the water suspose to come out its coming out a hose off the heads is this correct?

    seahorse

    wheres the serial # its a burgandy and white johnson seahorse only firing on one plug i got it to run for a few seconds about 5 times but i never saw the water start pumping any suggestions

    hose connection

    where is the ser # on my johnson? theres a silver tag on the top with a seahorse with some numbers i think its in the 60s or 50s its burgandy and white also the fuel hookup has three prongs at walmart all they had were two prongs it hooked up but when i pumped it i could hear air coming out also...

    ignition

    just came across a 60s model sea horse 35 hp tried to fire it up tonight but only had fire on 1 plug sanded points but it didnt help can you get electronic ignition and do away with points?

    crankshaft play

    i just bought a used boat with a 81 model 35 hp evinrude i got it to run by squirting gas in carb but i noticed play in flywheel so i removed it and its in the crankshaft what do i need to do?
