    rpm gauge reads high after towing?

    I towed a guy about 1/2 mile about 2 weeks ago. After the tow i noticed that when at idle the rpm was around 2000 and before it was around 1000?? I used to track my cruise speed by the tach now its reading high? What could have happened? Is it easy to fix it? Thanks
