    1996 johnson 25hp tiller friction screw was over tightened and wore it out now what?

    So it was over tightened and probably never greased so it's completely worm out and 40 degrees before and after it has a lot of loose play and becomes tight again. This is with the screw completely tightened. What can I do?

    Hello, I just got a mariner 1986 i believe is the year. When I'm only at top speed or over 3/4 speed I think the motor is misfiring. It makes a stuttering sound. I rebuilt the carburetor thinking it was dirty and still the same issue arises. It does not do it consistently but very erratically...
