    1977 Johnson 140 HP motor weight?

    Can anyone please tell me where I can find the accurate weight of this old motor? I have found answers ranging from 301 lbs to 365lbs, but would like to get a little more accurate in order to find a modern motor that does not exceed the weight of this one...THANKS.

    Johnson 140 fuel pump issue

    I just rebuilt the fuel pump on a 1977 Johnson 140,and it pumps fine now,BUT,it spits fuel out through a small vent hole on the back plate,right next to the little spring-loaded plastic valve (or piston ) located at the top ,point-shaped section of the pump housing. Now,this area that is leaking...

    Tower of Power gas type?

    Do you guys run Premium gas in these old 2 stroke 6 cyl , HARD TO START motors , or just Regular grade? [1979 115 model]

    1979.5 Merc 115 6cyl ALTERNATIVE SPARK PLUGS ???

    Is there any "regular" type spark plug that can be used on these old Mercs,to get away from these "rim-fire" type? These seem to foul-out too easily when the engine gets flooded sometimes during a cold start. [Still trying to resolve the flooding issue,but that's another story]
