    won't run with cowl on.

    I have a 1975 evinrude 25hp that runs great with the cowl off but when it is put on it bogs the motor down and it dies. I have checked for blockage and found nothing. Anyone know what this is,THANKS

    I have a 1975 evinrude 25 outboard that looks like it was hooked up for steering side throttle and shift. I think I know how the shift cable and steering cable hook up but i'm not sure about the throttle part, as in how it hooks to the tiller handle. Any help with this would be apreciated.
