    Question on poly and Epoxy prices

    If in fact you are using waxed resin you must sand/ grind between coats. The wax layer floats to the top and will prevent a good bond without getting rid of it.

    Pitthane is a very hard industrial coating. Loads of people using on houseboat roofs and decks. My area can’t get the hardener at the moment though.

    50ELPTO timing issue.

    Timing issue definitely was the CDI or coil as I call it. Swapped 3 for 1 timing now adjustable. Suggesting replacing all coils. This unit fires and ohms out. Don’t understand why it would not let me adjust the timing.

    Trigger didn’t make any difference. I am going to try swapping coils. From what I am seeing only two coils of the stator charges the CDI or coil. Trigger wheel sets spark time. My thoughts now is either CDI coil or flywheel .

    Flywheel key is good, have a new trigger on order. The center magnet assembly looks to be in the same position as a new one. No damage I can see.

    I have a 2001 50 Mercury that I can’t get the timing correct on. It is against the stop at 10BTC and goes out of view at full throttle. Could this issue be related to the ignition trigger

    Needing help with choosing new paint for our house boat. We have used Interlux Brightside paint every year for the blue trim. It fades and chalks within a year and must be repainted every year. Looking for what you use and how long it has lasted. Outside uncovered all the time.

    I have a 69 model dana 90 with a squeal in reverse. Forward is quiet. Drives were serviced earlier this year. Ran 25 miles to dock with no problems. Sat idle until this week. Anyone experienced this?
