Re: 87 bayliner project

My baby went swimming yesterday.Got a tank of bad gas in the truck.Thank God for dual tanks.Rain in the morning.Wait it out. Finally dropped her in.Floats great.Carb lost prime crank crank crank. She started.Idled around checking things out.Stayed close to dock. After 30 min moved to big water.Wife drove while i looked for problems.Rode around for 2 hrs.Seemed like every thousand rpm was 10 mph.At 45 tac was at 4500.Went to doc.Reverse wouldnt catch and seemed like it spark knocked a bit.But a great test drive.Pics to come and thanks for help and support.

Re: 87 bayliner project

Still slacking on pics but Will come.I had her on the lake for a week a few things I want to change.I need to know why I take on water through the vents. She jumps up then falls flat in about 30ft est.Planes a lot faster than any boat ive owned before. But when tubeing or just getting on out there she pulls nose up then takes on water through engine vents once it planes im fine.Looks to sit high in the water compared to other boats.Swim platform 1 to 2 inches out of water at dock.Any ideals?

Bring up a really dead thread. Many years later some of my wood work has rotted again. Seats that I covered are stained. Dang neighbors cats. My old girl has been sitting since 2017. One shot of carb cleaner that was left in the boat and she banged right off. New tires on order. New water pump for the out drive. New bilge pumps. New cover. This Baylinner isn’t dead. She was just sleeping.
