Whats the deal with "High Milage" conventional and synthetic motor oils???/

It is my understanding High Milage oil also contains zinc which helps reduce wear in older engines I probably picked up that nugget from ‘Bob Is The Oil Guy‘ site

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

I was hoping to increase bunkerage on board cause she regularly gets used in the wilds of Georgian Bay where, on occasion ,only 100 mile range would mean putting in for fuel or making a special fuel run from the campsite. I still have one fuel tank that is a custom 65 liter (17 G) diamond plate...

1989 Starcraft Islander 221V repair and repower

Compression test the 250 , if good then save the bucks for the fabbing you might have to do at a machine shop to get your closed freshwater/antifreeze cooling system. Big fan of the 250 - that motor has was in production for decades. Parts blocks everything pretty much everywhere in any scrap...

My best fish stories have nothing to do with trying to catch em

Story 1) Scuba diving in Fathom 5 Provincial Park off the Bruce Peninsula near Tobermory early 80s and I'm at 120ft diving the Philo Scoville when all of a sudden it gets so dark that I could have used a dive-light to see. I think oh frig a massive thunderstorm must have come over and I'm gonna...

1989 Starcraft Islander 221V repair and repower

Yup I replaced motor in 2010 cause being newbie when I changed a rotten impeller but neglected to clean out the cooling water passage and overheated her - either warping the head or blowing a gasket. Found a donor boat for $750 that had a rebuilt 140 and switched em myself reading thoroughly...

1989 Starcraft Islander 221V repair and repower

The 3.0 block was made by G.M. and they put them in Chevy LUV small pickups and sold them to Volvo for use in the 240 Series in the 70s &80s. Amongst other things. I've wailked into NAPA auto parts and when I tell them the cars that they were in they find what I need - usually plugs wires and...
