    Gimbal bearing of u joint noise?

    I have a 1977 chris craft lancer 350 marine power engine 280 volvo drive. I have loud grinding at idle speeds. Gets worse when i turn steering wheel. Is it the gimbal or u joints making the noise or both? it got real loud this past week.
