    Intake manifold gasket removal?

    I am replacing the gasket on my intake mani. I am wondering the old one is really stuck on there, do I need to get every little speck of the old gasket off and down to the nice shiny mashined edge? I took a razor scraper and got 97% of it off, and it is nice and smooth. Is that good enough? Thanks

    I have a mercrusier 4.3L V6 1989, I am trying to remove the intake manifold to get at the head gasket. I removed all bolts and have been prying and hammering & it just wont come off? How do I get it off? Please help! Thanks
