    jus for info.. do you are anyone helping you have any experience with tha V6 merc??? as for your concern with pressure go here, follow his specs, and your concerns will go away... might as well pull tha powerhead and check this.... yours (adapter, coolin' system) is tha same as his BIG motors...

    ya need a spark tester or use your timin' lite ta test for fire on each clyinder off idle..................... or if ya like me i sometimes pull one plug completely out and start tha thing... do all six undividedly... you can wait till dark if ya have trouble seen' any spark from tha plugs.. but...

    look here for a build date stamp.. may not be very readable but its there on tha block somewhere... should be area "behind tha advance timin' arm", kinda behind tha bend in tha arm....

    chris, his motor has tha older WH's that have been changed which do not have anyway ta change idle except jetting.. his motor came with WMH's... its sounds 'lectric ta me... parts and/or wiring... if ya spray fluid in it and it does nothing but bog its not firing on all cylinders for whatever...

    thats a very nice piece for its age!.. . its probably tha easiest merc V6 ta work on and will live forever if taken care... even still has tha cle on it! if your boat is a lite weight it won't disappoint.. jus keep in mind that even though it comes from tha high performance side n all dolled up...

    thats a painted light weight.. you must have tha high performance XR2.. mount for tha hi perf. lite weght cowl also... thats a completely different story.......... not many of those left, especially here in tha states............ got my attention now.. what boat is it on?.. pictures?

    its common for some to run their main tank at 100 ta 1 with tha older motors jus for a little peace of mind and not totally confident with tha oiler workin'

    reed plate and front half gotta match.. merc only built one 2.4 seven petal "production" model front and that was in '80 and '81.. they only built one 7 petal "production" 2.5 seven petal in '91.. other than those all other production motors were five's............

    use a dab of red Loctite on tha replacement when ya press it in... try not ta get it inside tha fitting...

    file sent.. that plug is to flush motor.. garden hose with house pressure.. don't run motor when ya have it hooked up to tha garden hose........ use "ears" when ya want ta run tha thing on tha trailer... "READ THA BOOK"

    you need ta find an oem (forget tha aftermarket manuals.. they're junk) manual for your motor and do some serious readin'........ jmo... send me an email addy and i'll send ya and oem manual (pdf file) that has your motor in it or ya can find someone that actually knows your motor and make him...

    never had that particular problem but if its broke and not repairable (solder and heat shrink) it needs ta be replaced anyway............... jmo.
