    Re: 45hp lower end removal In my haste, I neglected to watch for the ball/shaft key when I pulled the prop shaft. :facepalm: I couldn't remember where I had seen a ball that size until I picked a 1/4" ratchet out of my tool box....DING!!!!!! Bought a 3/8-1/4 socket adapter and cut the top off...

    What is the deal?

    I was ordering Mercury brand parts for my Chrysler O/B and was quite happy because they had everything I needed. I proceed to checkout and a big red banner appears telling me that Mercury policy does not allow dealer to ship out of the US. WTF is up with that????

    45hp lower end removal

    So, I thought as long as it's cold and miserable out, I would start tearing down the lower end of my '76. Should be simple, drop the 4 bottom bolts out and presto...NOT! Ok, pull the prop and shaft out THEN the leg will drop.....Wrong again! Shaft, bearing and pillowblock won'tcome off...

    How old is this thing

    Anyone have any ideas as to how I find out the year of my Chrysler boat? You'd think they would stamp it on the tag. It was built by International Fiberglass, Model is Explorer.

    Siezed in mid water

    Had my 45hp Chrysler running great yesterday, took it out on the lake today and didn't have a whole lot of power so let it idle out to the middle. Shortly after giving it some throttle, it began smelling like something was burning and then she died. Damn thing over heated and siezed. Anyone...

    '70 4hp Johnson stalling..

    Had boat on the water today and it repeatedly stalled but never did his when I test ran it in a rain barrel a few weeks ago. It has fresh fuel (50:1) and line seems fine. Am I looking at a pump problem? Motor surges back to life when I squeeze primer bulb.
