    1895 Sylvan Sportster Brace question

    Hello All, Rebuilding this 85 Sylvan to use a tiller outboard. Question is, can I remove this back horizontal brace off the back permanently? I've seen where the back-splash drain pan was rebuilt to a smaller size. Any advice. Not sure if it will compromise the strength.
