    Hot water heater

The heat exchanger will still leak out so it will empty the water tank. Unless you cap the hoses or plug them.

Play in steering then found this..

That’s normal, it has to move for the power steering. Have you checked the steering pin for play at the top of the gimble housing? or are you getting the normal bow wander at slow speed?

View of unloaded trailer with pickups

I open the rear gate just to see better. I do use the mirrors but I’m not perfect either!

Trail camera issues fixed, now pics from them ...

Stuff happens. A guy I was with did that. I put it in my trunk, his truck was faced the other way on the road, he went one way I went the other. I came around to the intersection and he had a stop sign, I didn’t but the warden was checking his truck out, I just continued on my way, not even...

Yeah, on my old evinrude it has a shift fork retaining plug. I just don’t know if the op’s has one.

    2 vent plugs?

Hopefully you didn’t remove the screw for the shift mechanism. If you did it may have dropped the shift fork.

Decent transmission rebuilder to get a rebuilt/ Reman 6L80E

I’ve always rebuilt my own after as a young man, getting junk yard transmissions and having those fail also it pretty much sucked. It’s a big learning curve and intimidating but worth it in the long run, no more failures. I’ve rebuilt several for family and friends also. Not doing that anymore...

Have a live mouse inside a interior wall. No insulation.

When I moved into this house there were mice everywhere. Trapped them all, went around outside and sealed every hole I could find. No problem for 10 years. Until last year. At the first sign of a mouse I setup traps again. Got a couple within a couple days, thought that was it. Checked the...

Alpha 1 Gen 2 - leak & transom service questions

Mine was the trim hose gasket on the very bottom of the housing. Bellows and made sure it was all good, put in water and leak still there. New gasket cured it.

    Impeller replacement glycerin and grease

I just use the same glycerin for the o-ring. No issues. It’s just to lube it for assembly.

Replace rear seal on transmission 7.4 L inboard mercury

Yeah, done a few of them over the years. As said, clearance is the key. If you can gain the clearance you will be happy. Others are a bear to get to. Even sliding the engine ahead works on occasion. Removing the prop shaft don’t always work without dropping the rudder. Had a couple that you...

    Winterize a Non-Running Engine?

Is there a drain screw on the bowl?

    Solar charging batteries

You will have to replace the cell in the bad one if need be. They work together.

    Found a tackle bag loaded.

Well we give them a chance to think about what they have done. A year in the back room doesn’t hurt. Besides, there are a lot of boaters around here that only are here for a week vacation for fishing and come from hundreds of miles away.

    Solar charging batteries

May have been warm due to charging causing more resistance? Cooling down let the animals out?

    Found a tackle bag loaded.

That is probably right. At our marina we put it in the lost and found bin, that only us can access. If someone inquires about stuff we let them describe it and we will get their item if we have it. After a year it will go to the employee or other person who found it originally.
