    Hot water heater

Most modern water heaters have a check valve on the intake side of cold water inlet. My total guess is that the check valve may be bad allowing water to flow back into the lines and making it hot? With the water pump on it technically shouldn’t do that. With the pump off there isn’t anything to...

    Oil Pressure Sender failure modes?

Clean all th connections including the large bullet connection at the engine, and under the dash. Also you can do a jiggle test when it’s not working and see if it comes back to life for a bit. That will narrow down where the issue is.

I spent the last 24 years driving at 29.25 miles per hour

Yeah, I re-set the digital display before a trip and go. After the trip I check it and my average speed is 25-35 mph. To many small towns mess with it. Going 60 as much as possible.but I get a minimum of 30 mpg on those trips. On my 99 jeep v-8 I can squeeze 25-28 mpg on a road trip. In town I...

    SX-A Gear Oil Screw

Before I got the impact screwdriver I used a short stubby wide blade screwdriver and would smack it with a hammer.

    I have a leak.

Is the transom flat? If it’s warped the transom assembly won’t set against it properly. Just another guess on my part.

New study on tow boat environmental impact

Around here, the Apostle islands area, they are out there, but they can’t catch them all. In my opinion they don’t need more, we need smarter boaters.

New study on tow boat environmental impact

Not wake boats but, several years ago a lake in central Wi , several people woke up to their boats being gone. They found them in the middle of the lake and the motors were gone. One had the motor chained on and they cut the transom with a chainsaw. Never found the culprits.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

Rear view mirror. Ours has the on star button on it. When I go to flip the mirror to night mode with the lever I put my thumb on the front and flip the lever with my finger. Twice I hit the button and on star called me and asked me if I was ok. Ugh….

No oil on dip stick after adding 6 liters

Yes, leave it sit with the stick out A bit. They like to vacuum lock, either I get nothing on the stick or it looks over full. Even when checking after it sits from the last time you ran it I pull the stick and let it sit for awhile. This is true with any motor.

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

Changed my switches. Nope. The stupid leds still flicker unless I take out one bulb in a three light fixture. Yes I replaced all the wiring to 20 amp wiring all the way to the 100 amp panel. And put in another new fixture.

Prop shaft broken at Cotter pin hole

Or remove the shaft and have a machine shop weld it up and re-machine it to make it like original. I'm on my first cup of coffee so be easy on me.

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

A few days ago the temperature was in the 90’s. I resisted to do a few things . Temperature does cause more heat and it takes more effort to push ah, ohm, myself to discharge my energy. but a well oiled machine will keep plug’in away.

How would you answer this question?

Looked it up. Seems like a lot of boat but then yet again you state he wants to get back into boating. I’d ask him what kind of boat he has had in the past and stuff related to that. I’ve seen quite a few people upsize their boats and can’t handle them very well. You know kids like to get on the...

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

Depends on the condition of the battery, have you had it tested? If it’s weak the alternator will try to keep up and you will see higher voltage. And after y start it, it will read higher as the alternator is filling it back up. After running for 1/2 hour it should level out. The solenoid the...

Stretched Shift cable. Cut to shorten?

I’ve personally bent that shoe when I didn’t know how to line things up properly. The bend was almost impossible to see but a new one fixed similar issues you are seeing.
