Well, I think I see why they took the video down, top engineer came out and said it was unproven. ..ain't no one gonna use it hearing stuff like that!

Interesting, thanks for posting.
Many fingers will be pointing. As a civil PE that has been though failure analyses on the owner's rep side, I'm guessing there will never be agreement on what caused the event, but people will latch onto something, usually from their perspective, and there are many.
In this case, immediate public safety is involved - my guess is these composite beams will not be used for such a span length anytime soon,. Iff they are used at all. their transportation and installation will be highly scrutinized.

Interesting. I didn’t watch all the videos but, we on here know what happens when you bump the dock, sure a small ding in the gel coat, but a spider crack several inches long. Repairing something like that creates a rather large area. Using fiberglass/carbon fiber/or composite materials to me shouldn’t be used for this kind of construction. Any little ding or such can look good but the strength is compromised.
