    what am I to use.I want to drain it all out,when I replace the trim motor. also I dont want to open up a can of worms but...can I bore a small bore v-4 looper 3.50 to the big bore size?

    fuse blows on motor, 140 looper

    my project is a 140 looper.on the spare motor,on the stand, if I push the primer/choke too long,5-10 seconds, it blows the fuse on the motor.other than a few cosmetic things,it runs great.135-140psi compression.whats up?

    piston pin bearings..for looper

    I have been seeing, caged and non caged bearings for my 140 looper. I was wondering, which is better? non caged has more bearings, to me thats the way to go, but any info please?

    question for Dhadley

    for my 140 you said use 93 rods and pistons from a 90 degree looper.what size motor is that? also from what im understanding v6,intake manifolds and carbs will work with v4's? just a little grey area.I greatly appreciate the help.

    rebuilding 140, any tips?

    first off, NO, there is no problem with my current 1985-140. I want to rebuild the 1989-140 that I have...for my winter project.my question is, what can be done to get a couple extra hp out of this motor.Dhadley or Joe Reeves, any input would be greatly appreciated.

    update: 140 ignition swap 89 to 85

    well after getting the flywheel off :mad: I found that the magnets on the 89-140 flywheel that I needed, were broken and loose.It looked like they were repaired before.funny that the motor ran so good with the broken weights.good ol centrifical force I guess.I really wanted to intsall it on...

    maximum spark for 140

    my 140 is an 85. max spark says in the manual 22 degrees.the machine shop says they retarded the timeing to 18 degrees.I know detonation is very bad..hence the word, but , is there anything to gain by checking timeing and going maybe to 19 or 20 slowly?
