    1998 mercruiser 5.7 . I noticed this wire with male disconnect not attach to anything . Is this just an extra wire from the harness for a different engine setup ? Or am I missing something next to the ignition module and carb .

    Here is few more photos . Pulled the caulk off not as much chipping or cracking as I thought but looks like flaking gel coat with a crack or two . Looks to be Very thin Peeling . Anyhow will need attention

    No core samples … but I did use a moisture meter had no significant readings inside or out . Tap with mallet. Transom hardware seems tight. Hopefully transom ok .

    Sx-m to dp prop conversion question.

    I found a 1996 rebuilt dp-s lower duoprop unit. Serial # 3868164 . 1.95 ratio. Will it fit a sx-m 3868891 upper unit ? I am trying to get my lower unit repair or find one. It is hard to find one . I have a 2250 regal cuddy with a 5.0 gxi and a duoprop would be nice to have for docking.
