    Outboard making strange noise

    Hi, whenever I turn the flywheel by hand, the motor makes a strange noise. It is a 1982 80 hp mariner. 4 cylinder, 2 carbs. I have been told this is the compression leaking from the motor. Is this correct? Any info will help, thanks

    Timing causing misfire?

    Ive been working on the carbs on a mariner (cleaned and rebuilt them) and it still runs the same. Idles rough, shakes, and not much power WOT. I havent had the engine timing adjusted. Could this be the cause of the problem? Thanks- mason

    1983 80hp mariner carb issues

    I just cleaned the carbs on this mariner and put new needles and seats in the carbs. Ialso adjusted the floats to the proper height. It stay running just fine but it seems to rev up and down slightly. I havent had the chance to take it out on the water yet

    I recently fixed the ignition on my motor and i tried to start it and the flywheel barely turns. I took the plugs out and then tried it and it turned fine so the starter motors not bad. Im stumped. Any suggestions? Thanks- mason
