Have to agree with dubs283 once the desired height is established tighten the pinch bolt on the stem, and the lever would be for the swivel function.

    Downsize Fuel Tank

What I was looking at was in the future should I have shallow water anchors installed would be power poles, the extra room would be for pumps. Have heard bad things about Talons.

    Downsize Fuel Tank

Hey all hope this post is in the right place. Here goes I have a 2016 Ranger RT178c it currently has a 21 gallon fuel tank obviously for tournament runs way more than I need, and takes up to much space in th e bilge compartment. 21gal will last me nearly all spring and most of fall since I...

How to best install trolley motor

Personal opinion I would not deploy off the side for the simple reason it would possibly be vulnerable to hitting the dock. Would not be a cheap fix should that happen. Would also not be an easy to see the direction the head is in when you are using it. As for as raising the deck to accommodate...

    Mercury Trim Tilt Sticks

Thanks for the reply Chris. The first time it stuck in the up position I took it to my local dealer he got it down but did not indicate that this motor has a trim limit switch, that would be an easy fix if it had 1. I will do some research on that. On your 2nd suggestion it only sticks when it...

    Mercury Trim Tilt Sticks

Hi all hope all are well in these troubled times. Down to it, I have a 2015 Mercury 60hp 4 stroke and if I tilt the motor all the way up it sticks and I have to use the release valve to get it down. Only happens in the up position. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix ( before...

    What is this

Not a hundred percent sure what you are asking but yes it is activated when the switch is in auto. Don’t remember how long the intervals were, few minutes each way. Not really sure how it functions internally no engineer just a hillbilly with a boat. Glad I could help. Illini Doc

    What is this

Appears to me to be a livewell timer. Forgot what the number on it was but I had a Lowe bass boat and this looks very similar to the timer on that boat. Assuming you have a livewell. Further research I believe it is a Rig Rite 520 timer. Illini Doc

    AGM Starting Battery

Hopefully simple question for you all. Will a 2015 Mercury 60 hp 4 stroke charge an AGM battery without damage. I would like to replace my lead acid battery with an AGM when it dies. Thanks in advance Illini Doc

    EFB Batteries

Good point on the lithium. Just for the record I ended up buying an Everstart from Wally World (way to tight for lithium at this point). They boast 101ah and 690 mca, for about $80 before tax. So far so good it has performed as I was hoping.

    Auto Bilge Pump Wiring

Just to put this to bed. I ran a dedicated power wire and an extra wire for the pump auto function to a single pole double throw switch used the existing wiring for the manual mode and the ground. Pump works as it should. With the dedicated power wire I can use the pump and have the main power...

    Auto Bilge Pump Wiring

The switch at the helm was used for the old manual only pump and worked as it should. Can’t speak to the internal switch, but it works when hooked up with a single source of power. That was my thinking as well. Manual

    Auto Bilge Pump Wiring

Well Scott I hooked the pump up to an extra battery I have, direct power to a single pole double throw switch and the pump works as advertised, up for manual, center off and down for auto. I still don't understand it but it works with a single power wire to the switch. I suppose it is due to...

    Auto Bilge Pump Wiring

I didn't think so either but not being very astute with electronics. Electrical is not my forte know enough to get myself in trouble. But never the less I am going to hook it up like he suggested before I run new wires to back of boat. I will let you know the results.

    Auto Bilge Pump Wiring

Just for a follow up for all I contacted Sea Sense directly and after much back and forth their deduction was I needed a common power source and a manual/off/auto switch. apparently the auto mode was overriding the manual when hooked up separately. So am running a common fused power wire to my...

    Auto Bilge Pump Wiring

Yes I even cut off my connectors and hooked up direct to the battery, same results. That is the kicker the only instructions are through a switch, as below. I ASSUMED that I could hook up the auto direct to the battery. Did not even consider the possibility that the internal wiring wouldn’t...
