Discouragement is starting to set in

I would use an orbital sander to smooth out the rough gelcoat. It will leave a smoother more uniform surface with no digs or gouges like you get with a grinder. Just my opinion.

'96 lund tyee 1850 floor rebuild and foam replacement.

Thanks, how was the aluminum on your transom? Mine was full of corrosion perforations. I skinned over it with a piece of 5052. I'm sure I'll have more questions when I get to the front of the boat, just doing the back so we can use it.

Where to buy aluminum sheet to patch hull

The original metal had corrosion perforations on the inside from the wet wood rotting inside. I cut a piece of aluminum sheet about 1/4" smaller than the transom troweled 3m 5200 on the transom and riveted and bolted my skin on. Just waiting for the 5200 to cure.

Where to buy aluminum sheet to patch hull

I just skinned over my transom with .060 thick 5052 aluminum sheet. I got it from a local welding shop. I've also used metal supermarket, there's one an hour from me.

Bruno, 2 questions. How many sheets of plywood did you use and did you use all of the foam in the 80 lb kit.

Hi, all. I need some advice on repairing some corrosion perforations on the transom of the boat I'm going through. My thought is to get a piece of aluminum sheet and fit it over the old one, scuff them up and epoxy and rivet it together, then use marine sealant around the edge after the epoxy...

    Spray Epoxy?.

I'm going to use tuff coat on my Lund when I get to that point. Pretty good assortment of colors and textures and supposedly lasts a long time.

    93 Lund Tyee restoration

Hi all I just picked up a Lund Tyee 1850 with an Evinrude 150 and a karavan tandem steel trailer for $750.00 . I've got it running after replacing pretty much anything on the engine that could leak fuel. My question involves the boat itself. Someone removed the floors up to the control station...
